    Shop conscious, save money

Save money, time and energy with some simple tricks. Have you ever seen a dress and thought to yourself you have to buy it immediately? But time passed and you didn’t wear the dress not even once? Yeah, me too. One of my most memorable mistakes was a shiny, metallic, golden pair of jeans (as fabulous as it sounds). It kinda looked like this. (Told you it was fabulous.) Of course the moment I saw it I felt the connection and thought my soul needs this and who am I to deny such pleasures from my own soul? This is pretty much how women feel about high heels. Anyway I…

    WFH: sanity is overrated anyway

Is it okay just to catch your breath and be a little irresponsible and lazy during quarantine? The COVID-19 came, saw, and rearranged our life quicker than we were able to cough. The most important change for the lucky ones (and I hope they know how truly lucky they are) is the change to home-office. The media reacted quickly and hundreds of articles came out about staying productive and working effectively. The most common tips: wake up early, take a shower, change to daywear. Well I have a different one: Be the chaos. Does anyone try to tell me that I should put on a bra and jeans if I…

    My favorite LUSH products

When it comes to cosmetics my main and most important guideline is fighting animal testing. This is how I found LUSH. The UK based company has a wide selection of natural, handmade, and vegan products. They not only refuse animal testing, they only purchase from ingredient suppliers who don’t test on animals. Oh, and they value ethical buying and use recycled packing. Talking about voting with your wallet. Let’s start with the shower gels. The Olive Branch contains olive oil, mandarin juice, and orange flower absolute which makes it refreshing and uplifting. Bonus: you can also use it as a shampoo. Yuzu and Cocoa: The bright yellow color alone makes…

    Surviving isolation

Am I panicking? Am I going crazy between these white walls? Do I miss going out, clubbing, living the fast life, being with my crew? No. Because I am no fun. And I don’t have a crew. So yeah. I don’t have a single problem with staying home. I am a responsible person and I know that those in charge (not the politicians, NEVER the politicians) know what’s best for us right now. So stay in, wash your hands, and for God’s sake don’t hoard. Everyone who saves lives and still works hard to hold the economy together: thank you. I know that everyone already told this but come on……

    Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I want you to meet a woman I like. As a little girl, she always wanted to be on the top. She wanted the best grades, the compliments of every teacher, the acknowledgment of her parents. Later she tried to be the prettiest girl in the parties, the coolest friend or the most chill gal to hang out with. She really couldn’t handle the failure and even less being second. Well, she never learned to lose. Later the girl wanted attention and was willing to be quiet dramatic to get it. For a long time, she was doing anything to get recognition from…

Motivation (alone) won’t get you closer to your goals

Because it’s not enough. It is a state of mind, which comes and goes. If we are talking about setting and achieving goals, there is this one word that pops into everyone’s mind, but basically just means that you want something. True, in order to get it, you have to want it. But this is the first step and not the tool. To stick to your plans you need focus, time-management, learning, determination, a plan… but the most important thing is: self-discipline. When you don’t want to do it and you just start to think that it’s not even that important, then even motivation is what you’re lacking. It’s easy…

4 makeup rules I learned the hard way

Because it’s all fun until one day you look in the mirror after a night out and you are like: who dis? At the beginning of my 20s, I partied a lot, and the day after my skin was just the same. I didn’t have to worry about puffy eyes, wrinkles, or dark circles. Also, I never had a hangover. How I miss these days!!! So I didn’t really take care of my skin until I reached a certain age when it started to age as well. Then I started to build a very basic skin care routin. And yes, the keyword here is basic, because I really believe that…

    Down another day

February: Christmas is long gone, spring is still far away. No way I’m wearing anything else than a sweater and jeans. It’s the grayest month of all. I don’t have classes and I don’t have to work that much. At the beginning of the month, I was actually happy to finally have the time to write. And then… writer’s block hit me. Of course. Days passed and I couldn’t accomplish the things I wanted which made me anxious. Have you ever got the feeling that the less you gotta do, the harder it gets to do it? Anyway, I didn’t give up and finally forced myself to get some work…

    Brutalism

Ugly on purpose or just ugly?  They say that every trend is circular and eventually returns with small or no differences at all. The same applies to brutalism which can be reflected in the minimal style or techwear among others. I happen to be a big fan of both of those trends. I love clean and polished outfits, monochrome or nude palettes, and leaving any unnecessary detail. All these things can be found in Brutalism. Brutalist architecture was at its prime between the ’50s and ’70s but even then most of the people just considered the buildings hideous and monstrous. This opinion didn’t change until the last couple of years,…
