4 makeup rules I learned the hard way
Because it’s all fun until one day you look in the mirror after a night out and you are like: who dis?
At the beginning of my 20s, I partied a lot, and the day after my skin was just the same. I didn’t have to worry about puffy eyes, wrinkles, or dark circles. Also, I never had a hangover. How I miss these days!!! So I didn’t really take care of my skin until I reached a certain age when it started to age as well.
Then I started to build a very basic skin care routin.
And yes, the keyword here is basic, because I really believe that
you don’t need the most expensive products or a 75-step skincare routine to take better care of yourself.
You can do a lot for yourself if you follow these tips:
1. Don’t apply makeup on irritated skin
The first (and most important) step to a glamourous makeup is a neat skin. Take the time to clean and moisturize your face properly. Covering up your red dry skin with makeup will work temporary but in the long run, it will cause you more problems.
2. Foundation: less is more
Lots of girls want to cover up every little flake and they use way too much foundation. The result is unnatural and it will make you look older. A better solution: use concealer to hide the flakes and red spots. Use a small amount of liquid foundation to the T-zone and if needed, complete your look with a light powder foundation.

3. Remove your make up every day. Really.
The skin renews itself while you sleep. If you don’t remove your makeup before going to bed, it can cause extensive damage to your skin, acne, dullness, eye irritation, dry skin, and the list goes on.
4. Clean your makeup brushes
You can use liquid soap or cleanser. Wet them with warm water and gently massage the tips of the bristles. Rinse them thoroughly and squeeze out the moisture with a clean towel. Let them completely dry before you use them again.

If you have a proven skin care routine or a favorite trick, tell me about it in the comment section!

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website.
It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to
create your theme? Fantastic work!

Thank you very much, glad to hear! I did not, I use the Blossom Themes for WordPress and I can highly recommend them! 🙂
